At your core, you are whole and healthy. This is the foundation from which all our work is based. Together our aim is to identify the mental, emotional, and physical patterns that limit you from expressing your true nature. The three major components that will help us accomplish this are:
1) creating a relationship based around authentic communication, accountability, and acceptance;
2) understanding your unique nervous system, how it is currently impacting you and how to best support it;
3) fostering a sense of embodied resilience that connects you to your own innate capacity and strength.
I weave together movement and talk therapy to help you flourish. As a trauma-trained therapist my work is established in the neurobiology of trauma, the neuroscience of movement, and the undeniable healing power of relational connection. For me, it’s a fusion of the science and the sacred.
Movement in therapy is about reclaiming your right to live and exist in your body. All too often the body becomes a place of distress because it houses so many of our symptoms. By blending together movement and talk therapy you get to experience your body in a different and more resourced way. This allows you to embody your truest sense of self so you can more fully engage in your life.
Clients who integrate these skills into their daily lives feel at ease and are able to realize more of their potential.
I also take into account societal influences as well as family-of-origin influences, and I respect your beliefs, values, goals, and dreams. With an emphasis on understanding how your past experiences are affecting your present life, our goal is to support you in becoming more fully yourself rather than changing who you are.
